Hi Gordon.

We have a delivery problem with Modems, and I hope you can do a fix.

Cincinnati Microwave have been placed in Chapter 11 Bankruptcy, so there
are no more MC- Dart CDPD modems available.

We have been waiting for the latest Software upgrade from Novatel (our
primary source) their current Modems have to be manually controlled. The
new Software will automate the network registration process. Unfortunately
there is a bug that has delayed the release for an unknown period of time.

Can we do the control at the EEprom level ?

Here is the sequence. AT command set.

When the Modem is switched on it will register with the network within 10
seconds normally.

However there is no signals generated by the modem such as DSR or DCD

What we do now is to query the modem with:
ATS57?
When connected and registered, it will return ABCDE
How easy is it for you to do this at the CPU level

After we confirm ABCDE we can then send ATDP <dial string>
and the data string

The only problem is that we don't know when carrier is dropped. Should we
test for ABCDE every x minutes ? Or confirm network connectivity before
each transmission
----------------------
I also brought up interfacing with the City of Victoria's remote pumping
stations (SCADA) type of operation over CDPD. We should be able to handle
that with our existing set up ?

Over to you.
